i've recently started using the P990i after 2 happy years with my P910i.
i have the flip removed and in general i'm quite pleased with it but there's just a few little things i'd like to know...

[1] there is a little white light near the camera button which lights up breifly when you open the camera lense cover. WHY ??

[2] when i recieve an SMS upon switching on the phone, i can't tell what time it was sent. the time shown is the time the message was recieved on the handset and not the time it was sent. can this be changed ?

[3] when browsing the web, is there a way to highlight text to be copied from a website ?

[4] when the phone is in my pocket, fully charged and screen locked, i sometimes hear a beep similar to that when the battery is low. anyone know what this is ?

can anyone shed any light ?
thanks.

[1] That white light show you that Your Camera is Ready for Shoot.

but surely the camera is ready for use as soon as you can see the viewfinder on screen ?? me thinks the light is a little pointless (but cute ).

can anyone help with my other queries ?

1) the camera is activated and ready to shoot 4) Your phone is going in-out of service. When your phone bars go all the way down, your phone makes a beeping noise. And I believe it makes another noise when it comes back in service.

i've recently spoken to vodafone about this as i thought maybe it was an issue with the network rather than the handset. the person i spoke to said this issue is handset specific and that it should be fixed with new firmware (released in 2-3 weeks she reckons ?).
was i just being fobbed off ??
can anyone with up-to-date firmware please confirm if this issue has been fixed ?
i am using voda branded, flip removed, f/w ph: R5A006
kind regards.

well my P910i didn't. it showed the time that the text was sent, even if the handset didn't recieve it until hours later.
