My wife has a K750, and under one of the profiles, after the clock screen saver shows up (white background, black digits), the backlight won't turn off unless you lock the keypad (which she prefers not to keep on auto-lock).

The funny thing is that she doesn't have this problem under the other profiles!

What could be the cause?

My K750i kept the back light on when in "CAR" profile - but I've noticed today (because for the first time I wanted to use it properly!) that it doesn't work anymore. I've tried it with keypad locked and unlocked, and with external power on.

I have looked in the profile settings, and through the rest of the settings but I can't see a control for this (I've also reset all profiles to default using the menu option).

Can anyone tell me how to turn the backlight back ON in CAR profile so that I can see the screen ?

The only thing I've not tried (it just occurred to me) - the only recent change I've made has been to turn the screen saversaver off... I'll try that (and perhaps the first poster might want to try turning the screensaver off when in car profile!)

Thanks !

That's the thing, I cann't find the light settings! In the settings menu, it's neither under the general tab (where profile settings are), nor under the display tab...

I'm guessing this actually was the car profile.

Surely there's a way to change the behavior though?

Even my mobile's backlight doesn't remain on when in car profile, but I have seen some of the posts where people are having backlight on.
Is this a firmware issue? I have R1CA021 currently or is it that we have to connect it to car charger then only backlight will remain on?

I am having problems with this also.

When I turn on my bluetooth headset (which I do whenever I'm in the car) it pairs obviously and the profile switches to IN-CAR.

I have a SE cradle for my phone which is permenantly plugged into a cigarette lighter charger. My backlight goes off after about a minute.

Any ideas?

@shindecs

I too am on R1CA021. I am very sure that light used to stay on when in car profile, even when not in cradle or on external power. And yes, there definately are people who's light does stay on..

Mine certainly doesn't now - even after resetting profiles !

Can anyone throw light on this?

Try resetting the profiles. I messed up the handsfree profile before, I reset the profile, and it worked perfectly again.

@kristianm

tried that already, no success. does your backlight stay on in car profile and, if so, which firmware are you on?

cheers

Mine is always on the 'normal' profile and I get this happening at random times too when the sleep clock activates. This also happens when I don't lock the keypad. SO i don't think it's just occuring on the 'car' profile.

My firmware is R1CA021.
