Okay, i am looking for a way to convert 3gp videos to avi to edit in a proper video editor. I have used quite a few applications, but none seem to work. Anyone know of something good for this? And while i am at it, i also want to convert youtube videos to avi somehow. The youtube videos use the flash video format. Got a few clips i want to convert so i can eventually get them on my phone.thanks for any help!

That i did in the past Quickshare, but i was successfull today. Only crap thing, super was not that super, but i should figure out what to do soon enough. Got video that movie maker will import. That is a start. Now to find a way to get youtube vids converted.

mate, get super, you will do uyourself a favour.
So the website is convoluted, don't let that put you off. Super is excellent, and will do what you want into any common format you want.

Get it, you won't regret it
Some videos you need to tick "directshow", some you'll have to remove the tick. If you get an error converting, toggle this switch and try again.
You can also use Super to rip youtube flash videos - rename the video download with .flv as the extension, then drop into super.
That's how I convert my youtube video downloads. And google etc.

there's the link provided by max.. and that's the software i've used to convert all the video downloaded from YouTube.. this is the best freeware program that will do almost everything to the video you want

Super seems to work. Thanks guys, now I have a stackload of stuff that I can convert and put on my phone. By the way, I use an application developed by Mysh, (he used to be on these forums as well as HowardForums) to convert videos to work on my phone.
