To me it will be great if SE try to make a non symbian based phone with optical zoom and carl zeiss optics like those in Sony Cyber shot.

They should (or already) working on getting those T series compact optics into a phone. I guess ppl don't mind having a phone with thickness of
25mm max if a 3.2megapixel or 5 megapixel 3x optical zoom being put into
the phone.

also to me....they should work on a clamshell tht can carry the cyber shot tag to expand the trend of USA and China market since this two country seem to have more clamshell user.

Cybershot usually use Carl Ziess lenses anyway.

But for K750, and Cybershot K800, SE appear to have used Sony made auto focus lense modules.

It's true that most would be happy with a 25mm thick phone wth 5MP and 3x optical zoom

But I dunno if it's quite ready to fit that into a split phone, like slider, clamshell and twist phones.

Why else do you think the K series are candybar? To give the best bang possible for your buck in camera technology. It's much cheaper to produce a high end camera phone in a candybar than a split design.

The S700 had a Zeiss lens, arguably the best 1.3Mpixel photo's of any phone...
....then Nokia bought the exclusive rights to use Zeiss lenses in mobiles, and have been using them in the N-series ever since.....
......yet K750 got a TIPA award without one, think how good it would have been with a Zeiss lens.......and of course the K800 now.....
......I believe two possibilities realistically exist; Sony own Minolta now, they could give

a Minolta lense.......have to be developed from scratch, tho...
......or,

could approach Sharp, and call in a favour to rob their awesome 5-lens module, as found in 903/904SH:

If you've seen pics from a Sharp with this module, you'll know how good it is; the 904SH is already DB2020(like K800), so this would be the easiest way to get a good lens(and optical zoom, about time) into a

handset....

possibly, but don't forget Sony themselves turn out a decent lense or two (not like zeiss granted, but still pretty good).

They've been busy developing mobile camera module's of their own:

They are also starting a move towards new generation CMOS image sensors as good as CCD, so I don't expect you'll see anymore CCD chips in SE phones (S700 will be the first and last).

of course like Sony Battery (opsss bad omen) which they also made for competitor....Nokia is using Carl Zeiss...to me it is just normal practice for competitor to get component from each other
