Why can't
break the "phone as brick" paradigm of design and dimensions? Let's face it, thin is in. The Motorola RAZR is junk, yet they're still selling like hotcakes!
I was interested in a
W300i as a new backup phone - until I saw it was 7.5mm thicker than my old
T637 
The
Z610i could easily steal Motorola's thunder as a "fasion phone" - except it's 7mm thicker than the ages-old
RAZR
(Sigh) Maybe I should just buy a
SLVR L7

My "razr" lasted 4 days before I dropped it when open and it broke open.
I dropped my K800i down the stairs yesterday and its' fine :)
Might just be me but I presonally like the size of my k800i, it's not too small and it's not too big, but I don't have tiniest of fingers lol!

Not many
phones will let you do that. Even the T637's a pit porky compared to the RAZR.

yes, i agree that most people buy the V3 not for its features but because of its physical appearance. i used to be tempted with that phone, even entertaining the thought of swapping my S700 to that one. but then, i thought that if you have to weight the two, features will be more important than appearance. you wouldn't be looking at your phone most of the time and admire its appearance, what you'll do with it is use its features most of the time. a phone with lots of style and no substance will eventually 'bore' out the user.

Samsung! No I'd rather kill mysel!. The first really thin phones-Ericsson t28/r320! Now those were design ahead of their time. I still use my r320s,slow as it may be but it's a classic and a beaty. So I don't see anything stopping SE from coming up with a thin next year.

There's this preconceived notion in this thread that "thin" must necessarily equal "featureless." The V3 likely started this way of thinking, but Motorola itself is breaking that trend with the V3i (lots more features in the exact same body) and its successors (e.g. V3x).
No reason for
not to do the same.
