Simply back your phone up with the software, update the FW, then recover your data and settings from the backup.

I think I never did a restore,just reinstalled 3rd party apps.Everything else was intact.Not sure cuz it was a month ago.But restoring it will make sure you won't loose a thing!

Actually, don't be surprised if your backup does not completely restore your applications. It's happened many times, just search this forum.
