"Synchronisation failed" every time, not a happy bunny

I just spent the past 4hrs trying to get my dam P990 to sync using the PC suite. But all I ever get is the messege "Synchronisation failed" every time. What annoys me even more is that I am supplied with absolutely no additional infomation to help diagnose the issue.

I am fairly confident I have set everything up correctly, and I have never have issues with previous Pseries phones. I would really appreciate any pointers anyone could give, Im ready to take a hammer to my PC. I have a fair few USB devices installed on my PC but the phone seemed to install ok and I can files the files and make a backup ect fine.

ARRRRR !!! !

Welcome to Esato!

Update the PC suite from 1.1.9xxx to 1.2.15xxx and try.

The latest version is available on the SE site. I was having the same problem and tried so many workarounds like disabling anti virus/personal firewall but nothing helped. Installing the new PC suite solved the problem.

Thanks for your advise mate but I pretty sure I am running the latest version of the software. I installed the software I downloaded from Sony's website and in desparation I isntalled the version I had on disk which I think is that version anyway.

To recap:
- m-Router and PC Suite are installed properly
- your phone is physically connected to your PC
- m-Router/PC Suite say your phone is "Connected"
- you can initiate synchronization
- but somewhere along the line it fails?

Have you tried synchronizing through Bluetooth?

Just a quick point, have you got your P990i in phone mode option in USB connection options?

Must admit I find sync far better than with P910i and it works flawless with either USB or BT connection.

@jalf

I had that error as well. I deleted all my back-up files and the problem went away. However, i highly recommend you Master Reset or reflash and then set-up from afreash.

I've had the same issue I think. I get the information that there was one error during synch. Ok, but what kind of error? Well, it doesn't tell me, so I can't resolve it!

I hate those kind of error messages. If there's an error, tell me what's wrong!
