> P990 3G call quality problem

I have trouble with my P990: When in GSM & 3G mode, I have a bad signal strength in buildings (only 2-3 bars) AND people have trouble to understand me. Furthermore, Data transfer via 3G is working only outside of buildings - inside of buildings (no thick walls or concrete), no data is coming in. As soon as I go to the window, data starts flowing again.
When I switch to GSM only mode, the symptom is gone, I have full 5bar signal strength (in the same location) and the people on the other end of the line understand me clearly. Data transfer via GPRS works fine also.
Anyone else?

Agreed - but why does the W900 of my friend not show the same symptoms when tested in the same spot? He does NOT need to switch to "GSM only"

The main problem is that 3G signal decays faster with distance than 2.5G signal.
This means that if the closest 2.5G+3G antennas are at the same location, 2.5G signal will always be stonger.

I don't know why the other phone soesn't display the same behaviour but here in Romania it's a big issue with this 3G problem as everyone is complaining that their phones don't keep the signal, keeps cutting off in the middle of the conversation as the cells handover conversation and that if some1 calls you, it'll say your phone is off while it isn't.
I know for a fact there's not a damn thing they can do about it....
