Hi to all, new here, tryed to find some answers but i didnt manage, no hard feelings if this question(s) are already here.. So here it goes:
if someone is kind enought to wright it all, for all of us that are newbies and dont know some important things that we all should know, that we can find just need to read 10 threads and look in 5 diferent forums.
My curent sofware is: R3A01, tomorrow im lookin to update my software, alone ofc, but there are some questions that I (and lots of people i think) need to ask, before I get it started.
-- Instaled Suite but cant get program to "see" my phone, Windows recognised him in second, but Suite didnt, so is there "some thing" i missed, some option in phone (or Suite) i didnt check, that needs to be done to get it started?
-- What should we do after we "get recognised"?
-- What are the risks of this operation? For example, what if something goes wrong, can phone "die", or is it possible to get back to starting point? For example, my isnd connection breaks in middle of operation? ..
>> Thats all for now i think, ill maybe come up with something, but i would also like if you alone would add some things i didnt ask that we all should know before starting this. If someone will be kind to answer, and explain the operation to my simple mind tomorrow (today) will be the day of joy for me.
Im realy thankful for every answer and advice, and sorry for my poor english, dont wanna talk about spelling
Thanks once again.
Best regards,
Darko

Make sure you have the latest versions of SE PC Suite and SE Update Service.
Chances are your phone is not recognized by PC Suite because your phone's USB setting is set File transfer mode instead of Phone mode.
With a P990, you can change these settings by going to
Extra > Configuration > Connections > USB
and change to phone mode. Since the M600 and P990 run on the same OS/GUI, I reckon it's the same for your M600. Perhaps an M600 owner can shed some light on this.
Once your phone is recognized and properly connected, make a backup through the PC Suite by clicking on "Backup Manager", so you can restore your data and settings after the firmware update.
After you've made a backup, click "Update Service" to start the firmware update. From there, just follow the instructions on the screen closely.
PS: From what I've gathered, the phone can't actually 'die' from flashing it. The update can go wrong, but if that happens you should just go through the procedure again.

One more question, if someone knows:
When im preparing for update, do I need to remove SIM and MCC, or one of them two, or I just leave it all "normal" and online (or go to flight mode).. ?
Thank you..

You're welcome!
The SE Update Service-software will give you onscreen instructions, just follow those.
I don't own a M600, so I can't say for sure, but with the P990 you have to turn the phone off, remove the SIM, put the battery back in place and hold "C" while placing the phone on the docking station/connecting the USB-cable.
As the M600 doesn't have a "C"-button, you'll have to hold the right shortcut button while placing the phone on the dock/connecting the USB-cable. The rest will be quite similar ...

Just one more (and last, I hope) question --
Cuz i dont have so great connection (isdn 64k), i would like to know what is size in mega bytes of one update.. i have R3A01 and going for latest update.. is it bigger then 30 mb's? Cuz its realy big risk if its bigger, cuz my connection can drop anytime.. and i think 30 mb's i can handle ..
Thank you in advance.
All the best,
Darko
