Yes that's the standed stuff you get with Telstra 3G. NextG works on the 850Mhz UMTS, which SE don't have a phone that supports it yet, so I hate to crash the party.

Unless I'm just really confused, there seems to be to many "recreational drugs" at your party. I too have an unlocked K800i with a Telstra 3G Sim in it and yes it works great, but it sill doesn't support 850mhz UMTS (NextG's frequency)

Actually "NextG" is a fancy marketing-speak name for HSDPA.
HSDPA can be deployed on the existing UTMS network (3G) and also have a dedicated frequency band just for it.

That's right neonismo, and Telstra have it on a dedicated frequency band. So no SE phone for it yet.

I've used HSDPA on both Optus and Vodafone in the Melbourne CBD. Seems quicker than 3g but not by much. Experienced 300kbit to1mbit on those networks on prototype hardware. Now that the speed is improving, the networks need to improve their data plans. $99 for 1gb? Pah, thats easy to chew up.
