Hello everyone, i just bought a new P990i, frankly speaking that's my first experience with the P series and smartphones overall as i have never owned one before, so far i like the phone except for some concerns which i need some clarifications on like:

My firmware is R7A001

1- My phone doesn't pause music/video playback during incoming events (like W800i) i.e. incoming calls/sms/mail to alett me or ring all i get is a vibration and low beep. Is this a feature in the phone or a bug, is there a way to disable this, as i like to be alerted with any incoming events

2- Is there a shortcut for speakerphone when making a phone call instead of the long one with the Jog dial, it requires at least 3 key presses....too much work and time for me....i like to activate the speaker before the other party picks up or answer the call....

3- Now as for the Alarm clock, it starts ringing loud but when it starts looping the assigned tone, it gets much lower compared to the first ring, any explanation for this......please!

4- For the loud speaker itself, i find it so moderate and not loud enough, i have a SE W800 which is much louder compared to the P990, is there any way to change that or could it be done even in the future, as i am usually staying and working in noisy places, that way i am going to miss alot of calls.

5- No Minute reminder, no animated wallpaper support, can you please confirm that and if it can be changed through 3rd party applications.

Those are my main concerns now, plus the occasional slow performance, i just had 2 crashes and 2 full charges since i got it 3 days ago with very intense use. I hope things get better with this phone as i like it and i don't want want it to be wasted for such ridicilous things.

Thanks all for your support, it's very much appreciated.

as to 2, i guess if its like the 910, if you open the flip it automatically goes to speakerphone.

First of all welcome to the P series.

2. In FC mode press the middle (more) button twice. it's two presses instead of three. There's no way of activating the loudspeaker before the other party picks up . they might change that in the future firmware but there's no guarantee.

3. My P900 & P910 alarms rang this way as well, it's by design.

4. My loudspeaker is comfortably loud, i have no complaints but still in order to avoid missed calls in noisy places try a shrill ring tone and activate vibrating alerts.

5. There's no built in reminder but this might help.

So far the P990 has been improving with each firmware. IMO It's only a matter of time before the rest of the bugs are ironed out. Hope this helps
