A few years ago I paid quite a lot to have an official SE car kit (hard wired) installed iin my car. I bought the P990 thinking it would fit the same phone cradle. It doesn't - different connections on bottom of phone. Is it possible simply to get a new phone holder and for the old P900 car kit still to work. I took it to the people who fitted the original and spoke to SE. Both said I needed a complete new kit. Can anyone confirm this?

I just upgraded my car system to fit my new P990i. You have to change everything except the antenna

You need HCA-60 and HCH-64.

Thanks. Another reason for thinking I may have made a big mistake with the P990!

First - any new phone you buy is going to mean carkit replacement. So don't blame the P990

Second, your P990 comes with BT2.0, so it even does stereo I believe. But to answer your question: yes, it handles BT GPS receiver plus normal carkit at the same time.
