> K800i on TMobile US and TMobiles new Spectrum
Bookmark topic
Hey everyone. I'm really wantin to get a new phone. I really want a K790/K800 but I haven't been keeping up on what works where. I'm currently with TMobile in the US. Will either phone work for me? Will they both work? Do anyone have experience with either? Where would you buy one? I can buy a 790 from SonyEricsson, but where would you buy a k800?
My other question has to do with TMobiles recent win at the FCC auction. Sounds like we will be getting a new 3G network sometime. Will it be the same as the rest of the world? Should I buy the K800i just for that reason alone (so it will work when they upgrade their network)? Or is it going to be a new frquency so we all have to buy new phones?
This post makes me worried...
Let me know what you think.
Also, can anyone tell me if the K790/800 allow you to disable the wireless function so you can use it as a walkman on a airplane?

Yes, both work VERY well with T-mobile.
Yes, there is a flight mode.
You can get a K790a from Amazon for around $420. I got my brown K800i from eBay for $416 shipped.
T-Mobile has been expanding to the 850Mhz band for roaming, which only the K790a supports. As for the the 2100Mhz band, only the K800i has that. However, if you just pay the $6/mo for internet, you can get unlimited internet from T-mobile anywhere. (Make sure you get Opera Mini browser)
