Hey, recently I bought a watch off fleabay for a mate. He always wanted something fancy but being me i aint spending alot on him

I spotted one seemed legit enough, it was a decent looking Mont Blanc watch and he claimed it was genuine. Seller had no more than 10 feedback so i took the plunge and bought it. It came and instantly I thought FAKE, i tested it out and water had got into it, the dead giveaway was that the date went from 01 - 39 as in 39th Sept etc. I've filed a dispute against him but ebay aint doing anyhting. I know the guy's number and have negotiated a full refund, i paid him via bank transfer but he wants to refund me back using paypal, I smell something dodgy.
So in short, what you think I could do guys and girls?
cheers
UPDATE:
Guy has refunded me £60.00 via paypal, but surprise, suprise, the money isn't in his account. Paypal has lodged an investigation of sending of unauthourised funds, he has changed his number but his ebay user ID is now under a different name.

Yes, I've used the community before when I've had a problem, they're very quick and helpful there and prompt.
Just out of interest, this seller's other 10 feedback, what were the items? It could be that he's 'bought' feedback to get him up to 10 then scammed people, also where is he based?
I've seen some Chinese scammers selling top quality good supposedly but their 10 feedback look very dodgy and like it's been bought, and wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them!

Feedback was private, didnt know what he bought. And this just shows that ebay are complete W***kers, never had a problem with them before but soon as something goes wrong they do bugger all.

Ebay do their best but because the buying/selling items is massive numbers, they rely on their users to report scams to them. They ban them, these scum re-register using another user name and away it goes again.
Most people on that help board look at the item for obvious signs of fraudulent activity. Looked at your account but don't see it on there. Have you a separate selling or buying account? Was this a recent transaction?

Private feedback tends to make me wary, especially if they're recently joined and selling expensive jewellery, watches, consumer electronics or designer gear. How much did you pay for the watch?
On a slightly different note, I bought a 'fake' Rolex from one of those street sellers that bother you in Spain whilst on holiday when my watch got waterlogged (despite being supposedly waterproof!). Paid 20 Euros, which was a bit of a rip off but he was asking for 50! Within an hour it had lost 10 minutes, then behaved a bit better after I reset it, then it ended up losing even more time!
Bet it was the same dodgy factory in China that churned out your fake too

Sammy, eBay are stopping people with private feedback from selling later this month. This is a global change affecting all sites which can only be a good thing.
I would never buy from a private feedback seller, they obviously have something to hide. I mean, what else is the feedback system for if it's then hidden. Even then, using something called goofbay, others can find out a wealth of info on sellers and buyers.

Hi mate. As eBay removed it, that's the reason why it does not appear on your completed listings. Was the info on the forum of any use? It does disappear from the front page pretty quickly!
