Does anybody use the external flash with their P990? As good as the camera is, it needs some boost indoors.
As I am trying to use my phone for ALL my digital pictures, will this external flash be powerful enough to get me there?

Hrmm...I don't have an answer...but I'm just wondering. If you're going to lug an external flash for the phone....why don't you just buy a proper point and click digi.cam? Not much bigger, but much better qual?

I am very satisifed with the pix quality. and for an extra $ 25, I think it'' worth it to carry just the phone, and the extra only when you need it.

@ lastdon00.
u were right. clicking OK doe not do anything. it seems not compatible. on the cover it does not say P990i as supported, but on the web it mentions it is. I will return it promptly, and try another one. you never know.

Hi, there is no need to try again... See my complain in the following link. The sad thing is, in most part of Asia, there is no return policy, and I have to throw my MXE-60 into the drawer

you can sell it with a very low price though.. at least you get back something instead of just throwing it in the drawer

That is annoying!
Am still awaiting my p990 from O2 but i hoped the flash might work on it, as i have one and it works a treat on my current W800.
Perhaps this is something that could be fixed with a firmware update?

cheers Oz

Update: LOL. This is interesting, or typcila of SE ?!
I just got off the phone with the SE customer support. They told me the unit is NOT compatible, as it not showing in the accessory list. That is true, it's not showing.

But when you go under the e-shop web site, it does show up as compatible.

Then I called the e-shop guys. And they said that this is typical of SE mobile sites, to not have their list updated with the latest, and that the e-shop list is the most up to date. He definitely knew that the 2 (MXE-60 and P990i) are compatible. SO he will send me another one for FREE. Nice gesture. I do not have my hopes too high, as I have seen this is not wokring for some of the fourm members already. we'll let you know Wednesday though.
