> Walkman Phones v/s iPod Video

I want yo to give me your opinions about walkman phones (w900, w810, w850, w950 etc..) v/s iPod Video.
A friend is in the doubt if to buy M600 an a 30GB iPod Video (What I did and was even cheaper than the w950) or a SE W950.
What is your opinion in terms of sound quality?
And all advantages and disavantages of walkman phones in general and iPods.

I have used both. Meaning a separate SE Phone with an Ipod as an MP3 player and a Walkman Phone as a main mp3 player.
Ipod doesn't really impress my ears when using the normal stock earphones. I have to jack up the volume to compete with the sound around me. However, if you plan to use your Ipod for home use with speakers, go for the Ipod.
The Walkman phone is good for short travelling, especially if you don't want to miss a call. But if you plan to use it with speakers at home, you have to sacrifice missing calls especially if you're in flight mode.
I don't like using my walkman phone as mp3 player for long trips because it would drain the battery fast that i would not be able to use it as a phone anymore. Of course a car charger will always be handy.
Bottomline, it really depends on how you want to use it. I'm having the same problem actually. I'm still thinking of buying a W850i or a separate 4 gig Ipod Nano 2 plus a K750i.

IMO, you should just get a average phone like a K800 or some other phone and get a iPod. iPods are definately better for music, there's more space, so you don't have to buy memory sticks and it has it's own headphone jack that Walkman phones don't so you won't attract attention when your headphones get loose and the music starts playing and everybody looks at you, which happened to me a lot of times already. plus, you can watch more videos as well.

my w800i owns my nano ipod. the walkman phones have an equalizer and megabass thumps hard aswell as a loudspeaker to play music, tho. btw it is nice to listen to music and at the same time receive fone calls by using the handsfree, convinient. if you listen to music all day on your phone it won't drain the battery all away. its battery is excellent. 15 hrs with phone on and 30 hrs with phone off specs say. get the symbian phone w950i.

well my opinion is Walkman SE phone is the excellent one.... you cant compare ipod too far from Walkman SE phone..... if you want to compare ipod...compare it to iRiver which is the best of all mp3 player (ipod = crap)
