This is so sad, he was such a great snooker player and only 27 but after a long battle with stomach cancer Paul Hunter has died leaving behind his wife and young baby daughter who is only 10 months old. Such a great great loss to the snooker world.

Yeah really is sad sad news indeed, he made the game a joy to watch. His poor family and his little daughter, really feel for the at the moment. He defintately would have been world champion one day. So young aswell.

I never knew untill earlier when I read this on sky sports that he had cancer. He was one of the players I always enjoyed watching and I didnt see him for a few tournaments and never knew why. This is very sad news as he was a popular guy and to die of cancer at 27 is very sad.

He certainly did! During his time on the circuit he increased the profile of snooker greatly and many more kids took up the sport. Just goes to show the strength and depth of his personality. If you look at the tributes being posted you will see that not one person has anything negative to say about him.
I remember when he was diagnosed last year and thought "oh no" but he carried on playing throughout his treatment as he loved the game so much. It will be strange not seeing him in the big tournaments anymore, bad things happen to good people!
