the p990i is the most recent. it has a 2 megapixel camera, wifi, business card scanner, blackberry connect, radio, and much more. the only thing is that people are having alot of problems with the software. the phone has alot of bugs that need to be ironed out. SE has been delivering firmware updates but for some people the updates don't help. also the phone is a triband phone; gsm 900/1800/1900. as you can see, the phone lacks the 850 band the united states uses. some cingular customers have problems with the phone due to lack of the 850 band. t mobile will work great because they use the 1900 band mostly, however, i heard they will start using the 850 band too. the bugs and the lack of the 850 band are keeping me from buying the phone. there was an article saying that telstra's company in australia will deliver some 850/1900 handsets in the coming year and that SE is on board to build some. i hope they will make a new smartphone.

@don - Yep, the P990 is the one . . if you are looking for a brand. When I still don't have the K800 .. . I am QUITE excited, getting my hand on it, but when I did . . . I was not amazed with the features at al . . . only for the auto-flash feature . . . People really are NOT totally satisfied with what they have WE will continue to CRAVE for . . . more !

@sir - Why get an M600 if you already have a P990 (avatar)

@don - The M600 does not have a camera for all I know dude Full PDA-functions + fone, is what it is . . .

Sony Ericsson's innovation seems to be going backwards.

about 3 years ago I got a t610

nearly 1.4 years ago I got a k750i. I upgrade every 1.5 years, so I am looking to upgrade.

But with an upgrade I expect improvements in most categories and no removal of features. I wont pay for a new phone that removes features and doesn't add much. To me that is encouraging reverse innovation. We vote to corporations with our money.

The latest round of Sony Ericsson cameras do not have the overall / improved features of the K750i.

Light / Flash - Yes but no torch like functionality due to digital camera style flash. I live on a large property and I use the torch function of the k750i alot. Very handy.

Megabass - Only on walkman branded phones

Auto focus higher megapixel than k750i camera - Only on Camera phones that don't have megabass.

Video capture - lol I wont upgrade untill sony ericsson matches nokia's dvd like quality capture.

Keep trying Sony Ericsson. I want to stick with Ericsson, but some other brand phones are looking really really good in comparison. So hurry up!
