I have just aquirred the data cable for T68i and downloaded MyPictures software from SE. I also have installed the software that shipped with the phone but still cannot seem to be able to connect to phone. I am receiving the "Optimised Charging" message + beep every 20 or so seconds after I open MyPictures and send image it just keeps "looking for phone" but cannot seem to locate it. I have enabled COM 1 & 2 in Control panel. I am using Win 2000. Is there something in the T68i that needs enabling
Any help appreciated in identifying what this message means..
Cheers & thanx for your time

from your discription, the cable is a charging cable not a data cable, tell me more about your cable is it USB or Serial Port cable, but you sound like it's a Serial cable so I don't know why it's doing that try to restart the computer and close the phone and take the battery out and then do it again, if you need more help PM me.

i have the same problem !!!
t68 with t68i software
windows XP home
non original data cable.
i think it says charging coz the com port gives out 5volts.
it wouldn't be a charging cable coz the com port's power isn't regulated very well, the voltage goes up and down. A charging cable would only be USB.
anywho, how do i fix the problem.
what do i do, from the begining if you can.
like basic step by step stuff.
thanx

Right. Since my first post I have discovered that there are alot of people having the same problems as us with the cable/software. Have tried all sorts of "fixes" with no success, so have sent cable back for suppliers to test. Awaiting results at present, but I know the software & T68i works because I can connect to a laptop by infrared. My advice for what its worth is to return the cable and get either bluetooth or infrared adapter from Ebay or something similiar. They seem to cost only a few quid more than cables..
Good luck
G
Will post results of test and if pass on the fix should there be one...
