> O2 Online or car phone warehouse?
Bookmark topic
i'm currently with O2 online had no problems with them up untill now. i'm due for an upgrade but i'm just getting messed about. been with them for 12 months and started with the P910i.
i phoned them up on the 29th of september asking when my upgarde was due, they said i could upgrade at that time so i asked the release date on the P990i. the said "the P990i will be availible from the 2nd of october, ring back then" so i left it a few days and rang on the 2nd i got "Our delivery for the P990i has not come yet try tomorrow "so i tried i was told "the P990i has actually been delayed till the 15th"
i asked them what else they could offer only sony ericsson or nokia this is what they said to me, wait for it ....... nokia 6230i, nokia 6101, sony ericsson K608i or the sony ericsson K750i.
i started my contract with the P910i. surely O2 could of worked out something along the same lines as that, a business orientated phone. why on earth would i want a 6230i! lol found it a little insulting.
so i asked the release dates on the W850i and the W950i. they said 10/10/06 for the W850i and the W950i was availible... obviously its not. due for release in jan 07 with o2 in fact.
i've notice that car phone warehouse have the P990i in stock on O2. firstly how can O2 not have the P990i when the carphone warehouse does?
any way do you guys think;
its worth me switching to a carphone warehouse contract?
is there anybody with them?
if so what are they like?

carphonewarehouse can have it before o2 because each tests their handsets separately. Customer service people regularly try and hand out old/outdate phones to people upgrading over the phones as usually they dont know much about phones and/or can't see what they look like so advice is just followed. I suggest you go down to your nearest store where u can upgrade there if you have id and just keep the same tariff/number without any hassle.

as far as i'm aware stores dont have them yet. but last time i checked it was 16th october before they were getting them (but that was over a week ago now so it could have changed) Best thing is to leave your details with the store and see if they'll ring you when one comes in.

I had same problem upgrading my phone about 3 months ago, i was messed about for 2 weeks by o2 online who kept promising the phone would be in for certain day then when i ring them they move the goal posts and claim they not got them, yet they was giving the same phone i wanted to new customers. I ended up going to the local o2 shop who had the phone in stock and they upgraded the handset there and then (i rang them before going to the shop and they asked if i wanted a new contract or upgrade, i told them it was for a new contract and they said they would keep a handset for me til i went into the shop the following day. However when i went into the shop they didn't seem to happy about giving the new handset to me when i told them it wasn't a new contract and that it was a handset upgrade instead due to o2 online messing me about).
Seems to me as though o2 would rather keep any new handsets they get for a few weeks for new contracts only to make more money instead of taking care of there current customers.
Pretty disgusting in my opinion, they should take care of current customers instead of potential new customers. If i hadn't managed to get my line rental reduced to half price i would have cancelled my contract with them. However once this contract is up again i'll be leaving o2 unless they can match T-Mobile's webnwalk deal as o2 are killing me with there data charges.

my opinion of O2 has definatly changed. i thought they were the best network to go for ... now i'm unsure. maybe i should go to voda
thanks for you input
