I've just bought this phone about 1 week ago, and upgraded the firmware to R1ED001. Since the upgrade I had to do 2 master resets. The first time, every time I tried to go beyond the letter "V" in my phone book, the phone would restart itself. After master reset this problem has been solved. Second time, the phone after about 5-6 calls, it stopped displaying recent calls (wouldn't show any number that I've called, people that has called me, or missed calls.
Master reset has solved this issue. Now I'm afraid to load new ringtones and software on the phone, as I might have to do master reset again. Are this problems that has anyone experienced, or is it just me? The more advanced these phones get, the more it acts like a Microsoft operating system...weird:-)
Are they planning on putting a CTRL-ALT-DELETE function button on the phone? Let me know if you had these problems. Thanks!

I never heard about anyone havibg that problem. Try to take your phone back to whee you got it from and ask them if they can take a look at it because the way your phone is acting is not acceptable at all.

Unfortunately the store I bought it from is 1000 miles away, and they only gave me 48 hours of warranty. As of right now, all the functions are working, so I see if any other thing happens. Thanks though.

48 hours? That's really weird. Was it stolen, or what? That's definitely not a store that I would buy anything from, regarless of if the price is somewhat lower than elsewhere.
SonyEricsson themselves - not the store where the phone is bought - offer a limited 2-year warranty for the phone. Malfunctions like those you have described are surely covered by that warranty.

I must admit that I thought I was the only one to have problems with their contact list on the K800i since updating the firmware to R1ED001. Touch wood, it hasn't happened for a while but near enough every time I went into my contacts about a week ago my phone would reset itself and go back to the frontscreen.
Hasn't happened since so I haven't looked into it further.

This is a legitimate cell phone store in Portland, Oregon. The salesman said that 48 hours is the only warranty that she can give me to return the phone.
It might still be covered by SonyEricsson's 2 year warranty, as I have a receipt
of the sale. The phone wasn't cheap either ($430) and there are only a hanful of places that would sell phones that are not sold by service providers. For example, the only walkman phone to hit the cingular stores here were the w550. I'm not sure what have caused those failures, but it seems to be working fine now.
