Since I travel a lot with my phone, all my phone numbers are stored with international prefix (i.e. +1 516 for US +49 2156 for Germany etc.). The phone replaces then the + sign with 011 or 00 depending where in the world I am.
This works great for "normal" use, but when I use a calling card the phne dials the + and does not replace it with the correct number. This causes my calling card not to accept the phone number dialed.
Any way to exchange this, any tricks I missed?

the + symbol represents 00, enter that instead.
e.g.
prefix for UK = 0044 aka +44
prefix for US = 001 aka +1

So far I know that, the question was - if I travel a lot (US, Europe) the + sign represents different numbers (US = 011, Europe = 00). The phone knows that, but when it dials a calling card, it dails "+" instead of 00 or 011.

As far as I know you still have to enter 00 NOT 011 if you want to call the US and not use the + sign...

No - I travel a lot (look at the original post) so I AM IN the US, I AM IN Europe - and as far as I know, when I am in the US I need 011 instead of 00 (abd vice versa if I am in Europe).
I hope this becomes clear now.
