had it for a week, now giving up

- extremely poor battery capacity
- gprs traffic conflict, have to turn BB connect off to use wap, internet etc
- reboots without explanation a couple of times per day
- voice call being cut off without explanation
- using wayfinder, asks to reconnect to gprs constantly
- when using wayfinder getting a call closes wayfinder
- very slow applications, and switching between, open a mail takes a lifetime
- bb connect doesnt really work well, besides known non-functionality like no sync of contacts and tasks, email read at PC remains mark as unread for hours, can even get new mail in between

its just to much, have had a blackberry 7100G for a little bit than a year now and P900 before that so its not like I have nothing to compare with....

I'm just amazed how such unfinished product can be released, I'm Swedish and proud of SE but this is really not good enought

@bjorne

Are Black Berries 3G?

Can you run Wayfinder or similar on a Black Berry?

Do Black Berries have a web browser capable as Opera?

Do Black Berries have 2MP cameras?

Do Black Berries have wifi?

Do Black Berries reproduce music over BT in stereo?

you're correct (almost as wayfinder works on BB) - BB Pearl do have all you mentioned thought...

thats really why I changed to P990, looked forward to a good camera-mobile, mp3 etc, but do not want reduced capabilities regarding emails, contacts, calender syncs - and wayfinder doesnt work by the way

now a very slow buggy machine, I'm really disappointed

will look at a windows mobile solution instead, getting really good reviews, trouble is to find a good maching....Samsung have a little thing that looks good

BB Pearl spec:

- 1.3MP camera
- No UMTS
- not touch screen
- does not mention A2DP (BT profile)
- no mention of WIFI

ok tought guy, agree its not up to P990 specs on that side but for me its a work-tool, travelling 150 days/yr, cant live with cut-offs, reboots and slow email functions.

I just think SE launched an un-finished machine with to little working memory. On top I think UIQ3 doesnt have the spread needed.

Colleques are trying out various alternatives, windows mobile, exchange solutions for mobile.

Will give it a last chance by replacing bb connect with some kind of exchange solution, my IT guy says it might be possible as it works a Nokia E61, has Symbian as well so maybe thats one way forward if its BB Connect that causes all the trouble

Dont you miss functions like better hand-free (how do you place a call hands-free - there are no shortcuts - I'm having flip removed?) and the battery is a disaster...

@bjorne

Appreciate your situation and I agree SE should not have released it but to be fair people for 6 weeks here at Esato have reported various problems when using ActiveSync and the BB client. Don' t understand the hand-free query - I always use a BT headset which picks-up calls. News suggests the next firmware upgrade improves stability a lot.
