Hi!
I can see on the P990 vs TyTn thread that the TyTn is released as these...
HTC TyTN, Vodafone v1605, and Orange SPV M3100 and on T-Mobile too...
But which one is best to get?
I could get the unbranded HTC TyTn, or upgrade with Vodafone, or take a new contract oout with another network..
Or I could stay with Vodafone and go for the unbranded.
Anyone with the Vodafone v1605, could you tell me your experiences with it please?
Other advice also welcomed.....

Well i would personally go for t-mobile and thats because they offer free internet browsing and downloading for a fixed monthly charge.

its pretty easy to get any rom onto the device. i.e could have the v1605 but put the unbranded rom on etc
take a look at
www.modaco.com or
www.xda-developers.com for all the info you could need

don't worry about firmware differences they are almost all the same, and branding can be turned of by one click

just try to get a newer model serial number 36+ and one of them didn't have msn messenger integrated so check into that.

thanks mutleyboy!
I will check the sites out, at the weekend!
" its pretty easy to get any rom onto the device. "
I don't know how this is achieved and need to read about it too.
Japan will release two versions of this phone ( Docomo and SoftBank ) so I wonder, to save trying to put a Japanese language localiser on the phone, I could find the 'Japanese rom' and put that into my phone? Maybe not...
darky, thanks too !

I guess I can find that under the battery? And I guess all network versions have a similar number.... 34+ 35+ 36+ etc
Thanks, got more weekend reading to do!

ANy ideas on this question please?
What I need the most is to be able to send and receive my emails in Japanese. I know both Docomo and SoftBank will release or have released the TyTn.
My question is - Can I re-flash or change the rom to this one ?
Docomo_HTCz_ExtROM_JP.zip
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Hermes/Extended_ROMs/
I know from reading other forums that I should be able to read and input Japanese but the process to do that does seem complicated..
http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=217045
I found other pages too...
My thinking is that the DocomoHTCz_ExtROM_JP.zip file may give me the language settings that I need...
I am very new to this! The Tungsten T3 was easy!
Any advice is much appreciated. I

the new wm5 update (expected this month but no one ever knows

) will have alot of features, one of them will be to FINALLY choose the languages installed, I'm waiting for it too as I need more than one language on my machine,
currently I have cestar (chinese support) installed
my rom is english, works with all latin languages (you can install extra latin langauge keyboards easily), I still need Japanese/Korean and arabic support so I am waiting for the upgrade.
