how cheap is cheap? give us an idea of the max your willing to spend, there on ebay at decent prices but i would nt fancy buying one off there myself, my friendd got one off there the other month and had to send it back as the dvd player wouldnt read games after 5mins use, (he got all his cash back luckily)
if you want it modded then you may have to buy one and get it done or buy one from a shop that does them before you buy it so youve got some sort of guarentee

well brand new your looking at £280 ish for the premium pack hdd etc, the console only start around £180 ish new.
both of these wont play backed up game out of the box. second hand you can knock around £50 ish off each any cheaper than that and i d be very suspect of if you ll get it and if it would work or be uk spec

havent got a clue, ps2 were about £20 so that would be a start figure to work off. others on here will have a better idea.
prices may drop a little on the console (or free games added) with xmas just round the corner and the new nintendo due out shortly. if the ps3 ever gets released that will see the xbox 360 price drop to try to fight it off, but your looking at next year at the earliest in the uk with that
