> PC Suite Doesnt Work Any Longer
Bookmark topic
Hi
When I got my Voda P990, I initially installed the PC Suite software off of the CD. It worked a treat
I then downloaded the latest version from SE (1.2.15 I think) and it now longer recognises the phone (No Phone Attached is shown onscreen), although there is an audible recognition by Windows that a device has been attached
Has anyone else had a a similar problem? I will probably have to roll back to the old version but what improvements does the new version offer?
cheers

Have you changed the USB settings in your phone to File Tansfer by chance?

I have the same problem. The only way to get it to work again is to close down the m-Router and also close the process mRouterruntime.exe. After that i start the mRouterConfig.exe and voila it's working.
It's happends that i have to do this several times a day.

Managed to solve it. Essentially, I uninstalled the whole lot, including the usb drivers using the instructions below...

Now works. Nice

AAARRGGGHH... the pain!
I am now no longer able to backup my P990
Basically...
-- I put the phone in the cradle
-- it is recognised by the PC Suite software (latest version and older version)
-- I choose backup, then advanced.
-- Choose nearly everything, including 3rd Party Apps
-- let it run
It gets really far into the process (about 90%), then fails. The phone restarts and the message "Backup Aborted - Cancelled By Phone" appears
The diagnostic report mentions that the phone cancelled the backup and that it fell over when working on the 3rd party Apps.
Naturally, I then tried doing a backup excluding the 3rd Party Apps. Unfortunately the same thing occurs, with the process being aborted by the phone. The error message is below..
Backup Status
Fail
Remarks
Settings:
10000080 - Device not responding.
Settings - Cancelled by device.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am obviously very keen to backup my phone should anything go wrong.
Thanks as always
