Was: play button

the w800i had a play/pause button on the side that u could use to play tracks when the keypad was locked, ive just upgraded to the w850i and noticed this does not have the same button(or if it does i cant find it). is there any way to start tracks playing whilst the keys are locked. any help and advice appreciated

This is a strange ommission from the W850 which I only found out about the other day. I don't know a solution yet and I don't get my 850 till next week but it is sonething I will be investigating.

Perhaps someone else already knows...?

Also I saw someone say that they couldn't find a way to lock the phone without opening and closing the slider! Surely the phone can be locked in another way?

As i have mentioned before the keypad can be locked in another way by simply just pressing the on/off button and selecting keylock

isnt the middle selection button the play pause button since it has a "play" sign on it ?

The central button in the D-pad on the W810i also has a play/pause logo on it but it does not act like the play/pause button on the side. As with any other SE pressing the centre button enters the main menu so I'd have thought this will be the same on the 850.

As for the keylock, I had thought about using the power button but thats not nearly as easy and convenient to press as a normal keylock, hence why I was wondering if there was another way

Yes, but you can play stop the tracks by the remote controler on the Handsfree. I dont knkow if it has remote control like W900 or other models.
