has anyone seen a screen on a samsung that says "Sim lock" at the top and prompts for a "Sim password"? This appears after entering the sim lock code itself
I have tried 00000000 and 1234 and 12345 and various other common codes.
We got a new NextGen telstra phone for my daughter today and put my wifes sim card in it by mistake (also a telstra sim card) but when we put any other sim card in it gives the above prompt but my wifes sim card works fine.
its as though the phone is now somehow locked to that one Sim card
any clues on this one please?

it certainly did help.
this was a page that came up in my google too but i didn't go far enough down the page first time
I found the code *2767*3855# which reset the phone and then my daughters sim worked fine

she got the samsung A501, I got the Samsung A701 (bit like the D900 - very slim) and my wife and daughter got the Telstra ZTE something-or-other)
I'm quite impressed. They are all HSDPA compatible and support the new 850mhz UMTS
Foxtel works great as does the bigpond mail and browser (I'm with Bigpond here)
definitly recommended and Telstra phones are now the only phones I would choose to buy branded

pre NextGen phones probably had little branding but these have quite a bit, but all serve a purpose that I want so I don't mind!
