Hi

Has anyone managed to get Google Calendar working on their P990? I've tried to login via the browser but on the username entry screen, I always encounter a KERN error and it crashes. I'm not sure what language GCalendar is written in but I have a feeling it's fairly complex code

cheers

There is a simple way to get this to work.

1. Sign up for a free account at sceduleworld.
2. setup sceduleworld to sync with Google.
3. Setup Mobile to use RemoteSyncMl to Scedule world.

.... sorted.

Hi

Right, sync'd up my Google Calendar with ScheduleWorld - done. I can see appts online in my laptop browser

went into the remote sync option of the P990

Set up a new profile X

Server Address - http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
Username - same as online one
password - as above
Transport Protocol - HTTP
Internet Account: My favourite account
Server Initiated Start - Recommended
Show - Result

Then, I clicked on Calendar in the p990s synhc list

Sync Type - Import
Task Name - calendar / tasks
Server Database: http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds

Then when i try and sync, I get: "Session Failed With Profile X. Unknown Error"

Any ideas anyone?

cheers

sorted - changed database to 'cal' and now it's imported

now.... when I choose the SYNCHRONISE option, an entry I create in my P990 is not appearing in online Google calendar. Any ideas?

Also, it only seems to work over WLAN and not GPRS.... again, anyone able to help? thanks

so close...

If you force the network conenct to be GPRS set rather than "preferred" does it not do anything ?
Is that ype of conenction set so that It wont connect on demand ?

Not sure what is going on with Gmail sync. have you logged onto scedule world via a browser and synced Google from there.. does that work ?

@simpsons

thanks for your reply

Basically, I've gone into scheduleworld and told it to sync, which is does.

I then sync'd via the phone, choosing the 'Import' option. It pulled down all the calendar entries, but only once I'd turned on WLAN. I can look into this a bit further

However, when I then added new entries into Online Google calendar, they were replicated in Scheduleworld BUT.... the sync from the P990 doesnt pick them up

Have you heard anything about the sync being a daily event only? Perhaps there is a limit?

Cheers

Not sure...
I had a few problem when I was first setting it up also.
Spoke with there support team.. sent a few log back and forth, and all got sorted.
Suggest dropping there support line an Email describing the problem.

I've not tried this myself and I have no real interest in it, so I've no idea if it would work, but you could check this out: GCalSync.
