I have a K800...

Anyway, I've noticed that in the music player the 'protected' ringtones such as 'Sony Ericsson' and 'Greeting' plus a few more are being picked up, and that unfortunately I have not found a way to remove them from the music player, such as in Artists and Tracks etc. Because they are protected I have been unsuccessful in trying to move them to the ringtones folder or delete them etc.

So, my question being is there any way to remove them from the music player? Its just an annoyance really... or possibly move them to the ringtones folder?

Just a tad annoying when you go to your Artists and right at the top you see...

Sony Ericsson > Unknown album > Sony Ericsson
Unknown artist > Unknown album > Greeting

Hi Xugaa,

I just went to Artists and pressed 'C' key to delete and it deleted Sony Erricson from my list (I'll post pic to prove it if no believes me)

I believe as long as you store your tracks on your memorystick instead of your phone it's possible!

Yeah but I'm not able to move them files in the first place, so not getting to that point where I can actually delete them. Says they're protected whatever I try to do, can't delete, can't move etc...

Hi,
When I said store your tracks sorry I mean your own music on the memorystick,

you won't be able to delete or move the actual Sony Ericsson files as they are built into the firmware of the phone.

but as for the playlists or artists that should be able to be deleted as it's only a link (or shortcut) to the actual file

I somehow managed to delete the Sony Ericsson one, I kept clicking delete in fury lol and eventually it started saying 'fail'. But when I re-entered the music player it had gone, though still in the music folder, which is ok.

But still I have this annoying...

Unknown artist > Unknown album > Greeting

... stuck in my media player, which just says it cannot delete because it's "protected", also saying 'failed', whatever that means.

Hmmm
