It works, absolutly fine...there are a few bugs with it e.g. when composing an email with flip on, it automatically places the cursor at the bottom of the email (below the all the replys and signatures of the previous emails!)

@Gabster

Overall, how would you rate it?

Im gonna be replacing my BlackBerry with a P990 using ActiveSync so trying to see how much of headache it may cause me (or more importantly the IT Manager!!!)

Can i ask, will you be using the phone with the flip on or off...I ask this because if you are planning to write emails using the flip on then there is a small bug (which i mentioned above), it is a small bug and i am sure that in the next version it would be sorted.

Apart from that Activesync works absolutly fine, contact, emails and calendars all wirelessly sync without any problems...however like most people who have tried a blackberry before will say, no device really comes close to it when it comes to emailing. Also it worth noting that tasks do not sync wirelessly (need to use the usb cable).

The battery does not get drained to much (although to be honest i charge my phone every night)

If there is anything else that i can help you with, please just say

For me it doesn't work and I didn't got any answer from SE support.
I get ServerError 440 on connection. Someone suggested it has something to do with the ISA server were my Exchange server sits behind.

Thanks for that - will be using it to replace my creaking p910 (when t-mobile get their act together!) , Not that bothered about the tasks but do notes sync ? This is pretty important to me as i record my time this way.

btw I use both a Blackberry and p910 and find the p910 suits me better as my primary use is a phone , all the "extras" are secondary.
The flip makes all the difference especially when you have a very high call volume!

@Gabster

Flip on all the way mate so that bug will effect me, hopefully not as I won't be replacing till December tho...

Syncing Tasks and Notes via the desktop stand will be cool, won't effect my in anyway...

I need the email and calender to be spot on so I hope any issues with these are dealt with prior to my ownership!

Left my Blackberry 7100G for P990 to get some more features.

Started with BB Connect, crap software, didnt sync Contacts, conflict with other GPRS traffic (had to close BB Connect to go out on internet)

Active sync works like a dream to me, emails, contacts and calender, haven't tried tasks & notes.

Another good thing with Active Sync is that you can switch over to wifi where you have access to that (office, home, hotels in my case) and save some bucks in less GPRS/3G traffic.

Cant really answer on technical details as my IT guy have done the installation but fairly simple as I understand it.

Using flip-off from start as its more an email-machine than phone to me, ok so far, a bit fiddly with the key-board but I'm getting used to it.

Get Swiss Manager (free) or Swiss Mgr Pro (3rd party software) to keep RAM memory under control, otherswhise you end up with daily crashes.

Also using TomTom 6 Navigator with my P990, great stuff!

Good luck!
