is there any way to turn off recieving text on a K800 and turn it back later.

Probably by activating "flight mode". But this may also cut out being able to make/recieve calls too.

. . . I guess ther eis NO need to COPY the number . . . as the service center number will AUTOMATICALLY be stored when the SIM card is re-inserted on the fone . . . If you just don't want to see incoming SMS due to it's message alert tone . . . then might as well TURN to sound to MUTE or LOWER the volume to - ONE BAR !

Why do you want to do this anyway? If we know, maybe we can give advice. If its because the alert is disturbing to you, then like the previous post says, you can turn the Message Alert to "Silent", but you will sill be able to hear incoming calls. If its because you don't want to receive SMS's as your trying to avoid someone, then I don't think that deleting the Message Centre number will help, as this may (and its only my theory) only stop outgoing SMS's from your phone. Doubt it'll block any incomming ones.

Just for personal reasons, i need to stop certain text messages coming in at certain times. It's not that i want it on silent etc. I tried the msg center number before but that only stops outgoing. I need to stop incomming at certain times, still want the phone to be functional though.

change the network selection to manual and change it to one thats not your own network? or.... get a free pay as you go sim card and dont register it so it says "inactive" and still have phone functions
