Hi everyone, yesterday I needed to dial emergency services whilst on keylock - it failed! It wouldnt allow me to dial 999 even though the phone is european and on european FW.
I finally had to unlock and dial, all that time wasted due to the fact the number is not listed. I tried it this afternoon and you can dial 112 and 911 but not 999. Any ideas?

It's due to the firmware I believe. Same happened with mine when I flashed it and all I could dial was 911 and 112...
...having said that 112 works in the UK much like 999 does anyway.

Hmmmmm, it was like it before I flashed it though so I dunno whats going on! Oh well, I suppose the new European 112 Standard is more worthwhile!

Spoke to a SE rep about this a long time ago-he said operators (when short stocked) will sorce handsets from the grew market (usually Asia) and over flash there branded European software thus not having the facility to dial 999! Not sure if this is why, but would explain it :)

Refinalise the phone and add 999 to the emergency numbers section

. That happened to me when I used apac firmware. I grabbed EMEA firmware and a uk original custom pack and my 999 came back

lol

I know there's an "emergency-number" section in the customize.xml file. I am not sure but it may be the place where the allowed emergency number is set. You can try it. It doesn't require much effort, much less than flashing the phone again.
The customize.xml file is located in
/fs/tpa/preset/custom
Open it using a notepad or something. I have this section in my file:
Code: <emergency-number>
<name>SOS</name>
<type>police</type>
<number>999</number>
</emergency-number>
You can access the file using FAR.
