> O2 Contract
Bookmark topic
Right basically I have had an o2 contract for 12 months (was up on the 12/10/06) and i phoned o2 to see if I could get an upgrade to the k800i and they told me that I would have to pay 120 quid for it and keep my 25 a month contract.
So went on the o2 website and if I just started a new contract of 25 quid a month i can get the phone free and would be gettin an extra 200 free txts a month! Also if I move to orange I can also get the phone free with even more free minutes and texts for 25 a month.
SO my question what should I do and does anyone know how long it would take to cancel my current contract?

Ring them up and tell them exactly what you have put here! It is ridiculous that they want to charge for it when it has been out all this time.

Exact thung happened to me. Im on o2, also paying 25 a month. I wanted ti ugrade ti the nokia N73 and they told me it woud cost 70 quid and would have to put me on an 18 month contract. On the O2 website it has my exact contract, 25 a moonth with 500 texts and 100 mins, 12 months, with the oly only 30. I told them this and they said to get that i would have to cancel my contract. Im going to ring up sometime today and just see what happens

My experience with O2 is try a little harder to bargain with them. It usually takes a couple of calls, but i get what i want in the end, even be prepared to quote them other deals you have seen, and finally ask for your pac code and tell them you are leaving.. Even at that point o2 will normally still want to keep you and offer a deal..
With O2 you must give 30 days notice for ending contract, even when your contract is up you are effectively rolling it on month to month.
Good luck and go for it..
cheers Oz
ps I'd put orange right out of your mind, they are a bad company to deal with, i've never heard anyone i know recommend them..
