I've been trying out quite some UIQ3 applications on my P990 lately, installing and deinstalling them as I go, which made me wonder:

- do Symbian or UIQ have a registry similar to Windows?
- if so, do applications leave traces in this registry, even when properly deinstalled?
- if so, is there any way to scrub this registry, ie. manually edit it?

And specifically concerning TomTom Navigator 6:
I've tried the 'shady' version found elsewhere on the forum to see if it works on the P990 as it should, and since it does, have now ordered a legal copy. I now want to completely remove the warez version before I install from the DVD. How to go about this, since it was copied into the root of the Memory Stick and existing folders/files were overwritten?

i believe (after reading quite a few whitepapers) that symbian doesn't have registry, but it depends on .ini files created per-app.
and since the installer is able to create this file, i believe that you can edit (also remove) this file.
