hi,
recently, i have got sony ericsson w700i. i also got an avt bluetooth dongle. i downloaded internet settings sent by airtel help desk on my mobile. iam using windows xp with p4 processor. i am able to surf the net on my pc with dongle. but the data rates r very slow. even the pages r not getting displayed properly. when i download a file its with 1-2 kpbs but not more than 4-5 kbps at the most. what i feel is, i have not made the settings right in my mobile and my pc with dongle. even, i dont know about airtel live and office mobile services. iam able to see both of them in my mobile.
pls let me know, what settings i have to make in order to use internet on my mobile as well as on my pc with dongle. how i should set-up my mobile and my pc-dongle settings... i have read some msgs on this forum, but differnt suggestions and different views i have seen..pls suggest me good step-by-step process settings for my mobile and pc with dongle. thank u in advance....bye

sorry i could not mention in this same message in my previous posting.. that fact is that airtel help desk have also given me an ip address and port number. are they really required, if so, wher can i use them. pls suggest me.

swamy.

With w700i, 6 kbps is the maximum you can get . For higher speeds upto 30 kbps, you need an edge mobile like w810i. I am still suprised why you didn't opt for w810i. Its such a lovely phone. .

Or the W300.
I had 2 choose between a W700 & a W300 4 my cuz last week & chose the later only 4 its EDGE enability although he insisted on the 4mer, is happy now. He gets download speeds of between 23 & 25 KB/sec & connects through the USB...helps in keeping it charged.
