What is the point of Walkman branded phones?
That is the question I made myself when I recived my K790....I think the Walkman phones are great but really I see no point in buying one because I compared the sound quality of M600, K790, w800, w810 etc... they were all the same no difference in walkman phones ....only the W logo...but I think getting the Cybershot has a point because queality is far better than any other phone. And now the walkman phone cameras are no so good....when you see the pics take by a W850 you will really notice that the 2mp camera is not good at all...
So what do you think?

What I made notice also is that MAJORITY of the W-series fones have higher (included in the box) external memory card inclusion with the package . . . like: 512 MB on the W800 and W810i and 1 GB on the W850i . . . me talkin' about the standard package here . . .

There are some difference also with their accessories. Check the accessories on the website some of the products are only compatible with walkman branded phones but not on smarthphones or other new phones.

I know but all the differences they have are just accesories that can be bought but really there is no sound diference so, I have the adaptor fo the 3.5 mm headphones port...a 1GB mem stick....and is the same that the walkman but with a better cam so it is pretty useless
Btw, I know about marketing...I created the thread from the perspectivo of BUYERS not SE

I completely agree, I also had a w800 and was great!...I am just telling that I find stupid that there is no SOUND quality diffs between K and W SE phones

no way regular equalizier bass sounds the same as megabass.. you should check again.. megabass is a lot fuller and heavier. (i'm personally not a fan of it)
the main difference is software but the w950i supposedly has better hardware as well...
therefore the difference should be cyber's have better cam software and hardware and walkman phones have better music software and hardware...
we will know for sure when more models come out
i wasn't that impressed with m600i sound quality.. i found it to be the worse out of all them
