Will they ever?. im quite sick of the bulky/chunky fastport which is extremely fragile. you cannot place it in your pocket poperly without bending the coil upwards which will eventually break it(why the hell did they make it a right angle coil). went through stacks of handsfree and im sick of it.

i know it has a mic for talking etc but they should really implement one for the walkman series. the influential n95 has a 3.5mm socket but the battery life of the phone is only 2.6 hrs max talk time so im not going to convert. the w800i is almost the perfect music phone, if it had a 3.5mm socket within the phone itself, i jump in front of a car for it XD.

Why not just get a 3.5 mm headphone adaptor & plug it in to the phone?

Then you can just plug your normal headfones in.

Ebay is the best place for these.

i have, they break faster than meat pie. its the flimsy chunky right coil fastport that needs redesigning.

The fastport is very useful and gives the phone great opportunities to communicate with other devices like chargers, usb cables, deskstands, speaker and etc, but the problem are the headphones. When I put the in my pocket I do not feel comfortable at all. All the time I'm afraid if I could broke the wire or the connector. The problem is that the headphones cable is on the left side of the sonnector:

If they were like the usb cable:

They would be PERFECT. But, putting a 3.5 mm jack directly on the board of the phone is great idea

Thanks
