I have a 2 month old W300i which has started to crash as soon as I turn it on. Is there a way to repair the software without wiping the memory?

Have you tried a firmware update via SEUS?

>> go to
www.sonyericsson.com
>> go to support section
>> select your phone (w300)
>> download the update software
>> install it in your pc
>> launch it and follow instructions
I think this will help.

Is this likely to reinstall the software without affecting the internal memory? And furthermore, is it necessary to remove the SIM?
Thanks!

U can make a backup of the internal memory using the PC suit.
It is OK 2 leave the sim card in the phone as Filmware upgrade doesn't do nething 2 the sim or the ext mem. Although I think the update won't take place if U don't ve the sim in the phone.

sorry to say you´re wrong, has33. You need (at least i did with my k750) to remove the sim in order to update. Be sure to install all the drivers proberbly before updating your phone. When the drivers are installed, connect the phone a couple of times (aprox. 1min each time) to make shure the computer recognizes the phone. Next, start the updating program, and carefully follow the on-screen instructions. Be sure to close all programs, INCLUDING SCREENSAVER! Good luck!

The update system says that the phone has the latest version of the software available. Do you have any other suggestions?
