just so everyone knows-
I have a k750i that i've had for at least 2 years. this was my 1st SE phone.
I have been amazed at what it can do as far as pics, video, music, sms, calendar, etc, etc.
I have been waiting to upgrade to the p990i as soon as I first heard about it a year ago.
Now it is here and what a joke it is!
I am very dissappointed to say the least! Pissed might be a better way to describe it!
And then when I come on these forums looking for some answers all i hear is:
"what firmware are you using, mine works perfectly...I've never had that happen"
or
"just wait..." for this new firmware that is going to make everything perfect, it should be here any day now...
WHAT A JOKE!!!!
Funny how so many different people are having problem after problem but the same couple guys on this site and other sites rush in to say my p990i works great, you must have a defective one.
Sorry SE, but i'm done waiting for "magical firmware updates" that will never come.
I'm moving on to another company that isn't a joke.
When I get my new phone I'll let you all know how it is.
JUST WAIT...

so what you are basically saying is that you were satisfied with the K750 but with the P990 you are not? well that seems a bit odd, considering the K750 is a toy compared to the P990...
I am not saying the P990 hasn't got its issues but all the other P series that i had in the past had gone through the same cycle...sluggish and issues at first and then with later firmwares all the issues were addressed. Is this the way to do it? i guess not the best one, but i've seen it before and it works!

@rlaffoon: You bought the P990 and didn't like it and therefore you are pissed?
Or are you pissed over the fact that

don't have a phone that suits you?
Why are you pissed?

*sigh*. this is what happens to people when they don't do their research first before they buy something. They then just buy into the hype. I bought my P990 knowing full well its potential problems. But regardless, it's the ONLY phone that can do everything I need it to do. Hence, it's still a good phone for me. I just kinda gotta deal with all the problems that come with it.
You buy into the hype and all you're doing is setting yourself up for a big let down. You've got no one to blame but yourself mate. Stop trying to lay the blame on SE.

@ares
I agree with you that ultimately it is better to ignore those kind of postings but at the moment you should reply for the sake of us who steal don't own the P990. Be sure that we appreciate it.

The p990 had too much hype, it was never going to be able to do everything that everyone wanted it to do straight away. Its still brand new, think of it as a building block and lets see what apps come along and make it all the more powerful.
I bought an N73 as I was tired with the wait and I can say (having been with SE for 3 years) that nokia has the same problems. I get memory crashes on the n73 running gallery and a number of other programs. The pc software provided is so god awfully slow at transfers its almost not worht the bother. I also dont think the organisation and smaller key features that can be seen on k800i are present with nokia.
However, it is growing on me and the thought of changing to a p990 is seeming more remote as I read all of these posts. If people really do have a problem with the p990, change it, dont come on here and bitch about it. Just get it sorted.

@rlaffoon
1. Did you buy the P990? If so please tell us what FW version and bugs caused you problems. My P990 (Generic World with FW R3B01) and I use for business etc and no serious issues as long as I boot every 2 days
2. Why not try the HTC TyTN or wait for the Nokia N95
3. The M600 is very stable and has lots of RAM. With 3G you don't miss wifi.
Please share with us your personal experience of the Smartphones you've tried
