Help! I know how to assign ringtones on the P990 but what I want is a particular ringtone for 2 or 3 people (eg missus etc, I know how to do this), and then another ringtone for everyone else in my Contacts and a final ringtone for anyone I don't know. Is there a way of doing this without going all through the Contacts one by one assigning a ringtone?

Cheers in advance

I was wondering this aswell, i have assigned all my contacts into 4 different groups and wanted to assign a ringtone and message tone for each group. Post here if you find a way or know how to do it, cheers.

I really doubt you can do this as it is virtually imposible to assign a single ring to 205 ppl for example. That's why you have Groups. Then, for unknown a ringtone?!What if the guy hides his number? I don't think this is going to be widely used so no option for it or,at least,i've never heard of 'em!

it's a shame cos the whole point was to filter out people who hide their number. Basically anyone I know would have one ringtone, anyone else would get the default (and probably ignored)

As far as I know, you can't assign group tones on the P990 (i'm still hoping someone will prove me wrong...hehe)

If you don't want to answer calls from people outside of your address book if yo go to -
- TOOLS - CONTROL PANEL - CALL SETTINGS - ACCEPT CALLS you can set your phone to give anyone your phone dosen't recognise a busy tone, giving them the option to leave you message.
