> K750i completely white screen - help please!
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me, my K750i has a major problem. Last week the microphone seemed to stop working, so I took it apart (something I had to do before to fix a loose camera cable) to see if anything was loose or blocked. Not able to find anything, I re-assembled, only I seem to have broken it!
Now when I turn the phone on, it lights up as usual and does the first quick buzz, but the screen remains completely white. Aside from this, the phone seems to be working - it vibrates and lights up when I ring it. If I press a button the keypad lights up, I can even connect it to the PC and access the memory card. However the screen remains completely white.
Help! Any advice or suggestions as to what I've done?

You may want to check the LCD connector is fully seated and that all of the grounds on the LCD are touching the mainboard. Other than that I know WSOD is a common fault, but I'm not sure if your problem qualifies as you have partial phone function.

Yeah I've heard of a lot of WSODs, and the phone used to occasionally do a white screen then reboot, but this is just frustrating.
The only thing that's worring me is the two little brass clips that (I think) ground the keypad. I had such problems with them, they're a bit knackered now. If they were not making contact properly would this cause this problem?

I wouldn't think so because it sounds as if your keypad is functioning correctly. Best thing to do before you panic is reseat your lcd connector and make sure its grounded properly. then see if you still have the issue. As a last ditch effort you can also try to flash your firmware again with SEUS. If it's similar to my W800i it should let you reflash the same firmware back on.
Good luck

Thanks. Have just replugged all the cables, to no avail!
Will have to give the firmware a go.

look at this thread. Some guy had the same problem and the keypad grounds seemed to be the culprit.

Aha, thought it might be that...
Problem is those clips are a bit bent out of shape. I'll have to see if I can bend them back or failing that re-make them.
Thanks

Don't thank me, you knew the problem straight away. Those clips must do more than ground the keypad if they cause the whitescreen. I guess that's why most people suggest taking the phone in to get everything sorted out. Miss a clip, or a metal bit and bang goes the phone. You'll have to let us know if that fixes it.

I'm getting nowhere with this phone
Put everything back as it was, or so I thought - but no difference. The clips are making contact, I'm sure of it - but I still just get the white screen.
The only other puzzling thing is a small piece of loose brassy metal I found inside the case, it's small and very soft - it's bent in the middle. It's definitely not one of the two keypad clips, but I'm wondering now if it's come off somewhere else and is causing the fault. I still have the pice, but I've no idea where it goes.
I have my eye on a couple of k750is on ebay at the moment, going very cheap (one because the screen is cracked) so I might pick up another to see if I can fix either and get a working phone!
