Can that be used as a PC monitor? If it has a PCMCIA Slot does it mean it can be used?

thanks

no, a card slot is that slot that comes in laptops.
You need an analogue socket

That's right. But recently, TV's have been equipped with PCMCIA slots to allow you to use PCMCIA cable or satellite decoder cards instead of a set-top box. More on this here:

http://www.hdtvexpert.com/pages/cablecard.htm

As for using it as a monitor, it's looking like a no but I can't be 100% sure. The usual route is, as amnesia said, to use the A/V out socket of your graphics card to connect to the A/V in sockets on your TV, unless of course the TV has DVI or (rarely) VGA support. The specs say that this TV doesn't have FRONT A/V inputs but says nothing about whether there's any on the back

I would suspect not though. I'd keep looking if I were you

my older model Samsung has every connection you can imagine, so I'd think that has a VGA port
Monitor port.

according to
http://www.play.com/Electroni[....]X_HD_Ready_LCD_TV/Product.html

it does

oooh yeah! D-sub is the standard VGA style socket that I was talking about.

TVs do generally stretch and scale your PC's output so it's best to have a decent graphics card that can throw out various high resolution aspect ratios rather than just the normal 800*600, 1024*768, 1280*1024 etc.

I use a 36" LG as a monitor for gaming. Its too big to be used for browsing or other common tasks though.
