ive been a member on here for a long time now. All i seem to see is negative comments about the latest p series, why?
does it not do enough?

Sure it has a few bugs but bloody hell the p900 was pretty shocking on initial firmware. i just wanted to have a rant. stop moaning!

i am personally sick of seeing whinging posts, what do ppl expect, its a fone not a dual core 64bit laptop.
yeh there are a few bugs and some ppls must be far worse than mine as I rarely notice any errors etc and my SW isnt the latest
then you get the posts like:

"was it worth the wait"
"end of the line for p series"
"p990i worth "£250"

I am sick of it, why do people buy them if they are no negative against them. I think people expect far too much from a phone/pda and think it will change their lives etc

Some thoughts:

1. Since June/July reports (by adnhk1 i think) told of RAM problems with the P990
2. Many of us here and at my-symbian purchased P990s as soon as there were available to give people information on the retail version and we all reported the problems as soon as we could (mid August). So why do new owners claim they are unhappy when so much information has been available?
3. Masseur started a thread on the TyTN and this is on the whole objective. So people have a real alternative to the P990, again why do new P990 owners not check-out this thread on the TyTN. I don't know.
4. When a device has faults people develop work arounds. Many have been documented here and elsewhere - again many users (not all!) seem not to be aware that if there is a known problem then the only option is to seek a work around until the next FW upgrade.
5. In the UK and I am sure for other European countries, if you are not happy with your mobile phone you have 7/14 days to return it for a refund - so why don't new owners exercise this option?

I know that P990 ownership is not just about making logical choices but I think there would be fewer unhappy owners if these people did a bit more research before making (in some cases) an expensive purchase. Finally, I think the M600 is a good alternative to the P990 and it is also more stable - again a message that many people have posted many times.

I beg to differ - The P990i is the only viable alternative out there, especially for me, who's just ditched Windows Mobile 5, due to that it "just doesn't work". So if you want WiFi there's a few alternatives but no good touch-screen-alternatives. So the P990i comes out on top - even if I still haven't got mine... *sigh*

Got mine yesterday. Strange how I keep coming back to the P series. I had the P800, ditched that for the P900, again got the P910i and then went to various Nokia's etc and here I am back at the P990i.
I love it! The only thing I have yet to discover is how to sync using Office 2007 because I don't get that option in the settings. Apart from that, it's reasonably quick, Wifi works, love the camera, have push email working which I don't really want and not crashed once! And it makes phone calls..
Stop the moaning, it's only a phone! There are far worse handsets out there.

What you have said is not praise - it is an indictment of the opposition.

I dont have the P990, but fair game to anyone who bought a top of the line smartphone - one hyped by Sony Ericsson for ages beforehand - and expected more. Its their perogative.

I myself didnt go for it specifically because I didnt think it offered enough more over M600 when I saw the specs and preview reviews.

You really do need to pull out the stops on your brand flagship. A tiny bit extra is really not enough.

Well, for me 2mp camera with auto focus, wlan, fm radio are more than tiny bit extra (vs M600). But as I can see through the forum everybody has its own preference regarding phone specification.
