ok, so on my p990 when on phone mode it comes up when you hit the signal at the bottom of the screen as 3g: attached. it also has a blue and white oval icon next to the signal bars, and then next to that is the wi-fi antenna.
what i want to know is, does the 3g simply mean im on the vodaphone network. or does it mean im online? the same goes to the blue oval icon next to it.
i guess i just get paranoid about leavin the net on and getting a large usage bill! how can i tell if im online or not?
cheers (from an amateur lol)

you wont be charged. you pay for what you use. that just shows you're connected to the 3G network

Identical to when it says GPRS attached. You're on the network but nothing is transfered until you initiate a session.

you could be on the network all day and not get charged a penny! gprs is worked out by data transfered! if your on the same page all day it wont charge you for been online for say 8 hours but however many kb the page took to download! Plus on vodafone the homescreen is vodafone live which you dont pay for at all! you can be on that as much as you like its completely free!unless you download stuff but theres nothing for the p990 anyways! Its only when you surf the internet you get charged! per mb.
So dont worry about it!
