If your wireless router is on, the wifi should be on... You don't need a computer to broadcast wifi

Yeah I have PC on internet & my PSP on internet aswell. Then you can switch on or off/login-logoff as many devices as your router can handle. It stays brodcasting. Just make sure you protect it with WPA & MAC filtering.

The router is connected to my desktop computer, and i got it so i could use with my laptop, but its not working with the laptop (wlan) so i just use it on my computer....
im looking to get a p990 in a week or so, and as the laptop doesnt even connect to the router connection, i dont know if the p990 will work with it. I followed the guide which came with the modem, but still doesn work. The laptop connects to it, but no websites load or anything, only the desktops internet works....
but for now i just wanted to know if the computer had to be on for wifi to work....i now have my answer, my computer doesnt need to be on......thanks all
When i actually get my p990, i will report back here to get help IF i cant connect to the router......
cheers

Are you using your router bridged with your computer or what? Tell us the details: router brand, connection, etc. We might be able to help you out ^_^
