I have uninstalled a few tools that came on the memstick with the p990. The 3 programs in question are

Mobipocket reader
Audible
Speereo Voice Translator

The problem is that every time I restart the phone these programs asks to be installed again. They where installed on the mem stick, it takes about 30 minutes until the question pops up? I have looked through the memstick and deleted any references to the programs I could find, but it still pops up. Any one have any idea where these install files are hiding?

I have quite a few strange folders under the folder "private". A subfolder to private is "10202dce" and under this folder is a bunch of sis files, but they are named strangely. Is it ok to delete this whole "private" folder?

Any ideas?

I've the same problem with agile messenger, but not at a restart but everytime I plug my phone to the usb cable and sometimes randomly at installing/uninstalling other apps. I've learned to ignore this.

i also have similar problems, but also ignore it...

however, i think with Swiss Manager file explorer one should be able to locate the files that make this happen and delete them...

Yeah - there is some file somewhere on the MS which appears to be like an autorun for app installs. I would seem that just uninstalling an application does not remove this. If you remove an reinsert the MS you'll probably see the install dialogue popup automatically.
I first noticed the problem on my device as Swiss Manager Pro was always showing the app installer in the list of tasks when the phone booted - when you switched to it, it turned out it was an install dialogue for a long uninstalled app. Selecting install did nothing, and selecting cancel did nothig either - at every boot or whenever the MS was removed and reinserted the same install dialogue would be there.

I ended up manually removing all the system related folders from my MS and reinstalled any applications and the problem went away.
I didn't pinpoint exactly which file or folder was causing the problem though, and I'm sure if you knew this you could just delete it in isolation and the problem would go away.

I am not sure if this is better, but why don't you re-install the app over, and then un-install it. This way, you will have a clean removal, and no more pop-ups. This is what I have to go through, especially after flashing the phone.
I wouldn't wanna mess with the encrypted file names from the MS. You never know what else you night mess up, and we all know how sensitive the P990 is ....

after format memory stick card, this problem ended. i think some files on memstick in sys folder for example turn on instalation app. it was so long write files from memstick to comp, than format, than write again to memstick 4GB files

Nope. It doesn't matter if you reinstall and then uninstall. The fault is with the P990i installer/uninstaller software which leaves behind some files somewhere on the MS which are then autorun on either boot, or when the card is removed and inserted.
I have noted that you don't get the same problem with software which has been installed to the phone, so it only appears to be when software has been installed on the MS.

If I get the problem again I will spend a bit of time finding out which of the files in the system folders is causing the behaviour.

Pretty much what I ended up doing although I just removed all of the system related folders from the MS using a card reader and then reinstalled my apps.
