I have a V/fone 3G sim that I regularly use in a P910 as I have a car-kit for that particular handset.

The problem is that whenever I do this the phone is continually trying to connect to the internet. As its rather an old phone this can empty the battery in hours !

I have no idea which application is doing this. As a precaution I have deleted all the email accounts, but this has made no difference.

Might this be connected to the fact that I am putting a 3G sim into a non-3g phone ?.....

Any ideas !

Hiya mate, have you tried an non 3g sim card? if that works fine then its the new 3g sim card causing the issue.

I'll try it with one of those freebie PAYG sims.

Looks like it is the SIM.

What application is triggering this and can i stop it ?

I only have experience with Voda in the Netherlands, but when I put my Voda sim in a "new" phone, it automatically connects to the internet, to get the settings for Live!, MMS, etc. Could this be the reason?
