My P990i has now added a new annoyance to its already considerable arsenal. It now stops playing (previously playable) MP3 files at will and very irritating it is too.

a 250mb file movie? How long does it take to load etc? I split my movie into 100mb chunks and even then it takes a good minute to load each chunk. Plays it flawlessly mind once it's loaded.

Mate it only takes about 15-25 secs to load. That's what i love with this phone. THe graphics is like your watching on a TV. Converting my dvds and avi movies using recode 2 of nero to have a good quality of video.

@spine6
So you recode with nero to mp4? it takes mine ages to start a video of 100mb. A 400mb whole movie froze the phone. I've even got a sandisk ultra II 2gb card in there too. pffft!

did a little research on 4gb cards:
SanDisk SDMSPD-4096-A10M 4 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
Data Transfer Rate: 15 Mbps
SanDisk 4 GB Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo Mobile (SDMSPDU-4096-A10M
9 MBps write speed; 10 MBps read speed
SanDisk 4 GB Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo (SDMSPDH-4096-901
10 MB per second read speed, 9 MB per second write speed
SanDisk Extreme® III Memory Stick PRO Duo™
Min 18MB/second** sequential read and write
SanDisk Gaming RapidGX Memory Stick PRO Duo™
15MB/sec read and write
SanDisk 4 GB Gaming MemoryStick Pro Duo Memory Card (SDMSG-4096-A10, Retail Package)
unreleased info even on sandisk.com
Sony Pro Duo 4GB High Speed
Minimum writing speed: 15Mbps
Sony 4 GB MemoryStick PRO DUO ( MSXM4GS )
Minimum write speeds of 15Mbps
I have the first sandisk on the list and it lags. is there an application that'll test xfer spd for cards to pc? furthermore, when i had the p800 the stock media player was lackluster. however when i obtained 3rd party media players it totally rocked and played multiple formats. are we all just waiting for this type of release? something that's less of a memory hog and will play and cache things better?
