Hi all! I have recently bought the original DVD of TomTom Navigator 6, with maps of Western Europe and Scandinavia. I have managed to install the UIQ3 version on my memory stick using TomTom Home, which installs from the DVD. Voice, maps and the software itself transfers like a charm to the memstick. But, when I pull the usb cable from the phone, it pops up with an installer for the TomTom Navigator, which says the following:
(Freely translated from Norwegian)
Install Software
Software name
TomTom NAVIGATOR
Version
6.02(7900)
Vendor
TomTom-EN
When i press details,it says:
Name
TomTom International BV
Issued by
Symbian
Working from
01.09.2006
Expires
31.08.2016
Fingerprint
1E:C6:17:
EE:.30:8D:9F:69:96:9D:A6:FC:
AB:C0:53:7D:CA:AE:9A:9D
But now, the problem arise. If i click on Install, it says this:
Security Information
The component did not pass the security check
Cannot install
Pressing details now, says :
The certificate was expired upon the time of use
Name
TomTom International BV
Issued by
Symbian
.... like i have written above...
What on earth must I do to get this software working? I know others of you have managed to get it in there. Have I installed it wrong in some manner? PLEASE HELP!
Regards,
Tom, Harstad, Norway.

I finally got the answer on how to install TomTom Navigator 6 from the DVD.
Remember to put the P990i in file transfer mode on the USB before starting this operation. Type in your serial key whenever prompted for it.
First off, I formatted my memory stick from my P990i, then unzipped (or unrar if you like), the UIQ3 file from the DVD, with ALL subfolders directly to the root of the memory stick. After this is done, disconnect the phone from the computer. Now, it pops up with an installation request on the phone, and let it install. It should do so nicely. To install maps and voices, you have to use TomTom Home, and connect to your P990i, still in file transfer mode. Select desired maps and voices, and install. You will be asked for a key here.
Now you should be good to go. TomTom places an icon under the Tools section. Remember to pair up your bluetooth GPS antenna too, before using TomTom.
Hope this is helpful to you others who might run into this same certificate problem.
Regards,
Tom-Inge Nilsen

Yes, you can. Remember to buy the DVD version, as this is the only one that contains the UIQ3 version. And no, they do not officially support it, but it sure works on my P990i, now that I finally figured out how to install it, with help from forums around the internet.

Hi
When I asked in the shop about TT Nav 6, they said that the DVD version had all of the European maps on. Since I didn't want those, I bought the UK version hoping to transfer it over to the 990i via my Mac.
So, is this now going to be impossible??!!
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated
Thanks!
